RSPB Reserve - Adur Estuary

River Adur saltmarsh

Type: Nature Reserve

The small reserve is saltmarsh and tidal mudflats which attract waders and wildfowl with its good feeding and roosting sites. The reserve has no facilities, it can be observed from the surrounding footpaths, with some good views from Coronation Green, close to the town centre of Shoreham-by-Sea.

Access to the reserve is restricted, to allow the birds to breed and roost in peace, and for the fragile habitats to develop naturally. Visitors can use the free public car park at Adur District Council's recreational field (west of the Norfolk Bridge).
