Historic House / Palace

Set within an ancient deer park below the South Downs, Parham is one of the country’s finest Elizabethan Houses, complete with a Great Hall and Long Gallery.
Its tranquility and timeless beauty have changed little over the centuries.

Discover a rare and precious collection of paintings, furniture, needlework and antiquities. The award ­winning gardens consist of beautiful Pleasure Grounds and a four ­acre Walled Garden. There are stunning herbaceous borders, a 1920s greenhouse, vegetable garden, orchard and Wendy House.

Enjoy walks around the Pleasure Grounds and lake and explore the variety of fascinating wildlife. The Park is a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

We are delighted to welcome groups either on standard open days or on Mondays and Tuesdays between April and October. There are a number of options available and we would be pleased to discuss your requirements. It is necessary to book in advance, so please do contact us on or 01903 742021

Set in the former Tudor kitchen we offer a selection of hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, jacket potatoes, salads, snacks and a mouth­watering selection of homemade lunches, afternoon teas and cakes; produce from the Gardens is used wherever possible. The restaurant is licensed to sell beer, cider and wines with meals. Children’s menu and gluten­free menu available.

Parham Plant and Garden shop:
Open to visitors free of charge from 10am – 12:30pm on standard open days where you can also enjoy a complimentary coffee. The Plant Shop re­-opens to House & Garden visitors only at 1pm. Discover over 200 specialist perennials whilst researching ideas online using the free Wi­-fi. The members of the Garden Team will be available to give expert advice and help. Season Ticket holders receive 10% off all purchases.
